Upload Filters and the EU

Tonight on GeekNights, back from our talk at PAX West 2018, we're talking about the coming EU copyright directive that may impact you. In the news, Apple Day was typical (though the new watch is pretty nice), the EU is killing Daylight Saving Time, "fake plays" are messing up the music charts (though this is nothing new in Korea), and Linus apologized.
Tournaments

Tonight on GeekNights, Rym is back from Brazil, and we consider tournaments in a general sense in light of the 2012 Olympic Badminton scandal. Rym also has some thoughts on Guns of Icarus Online after playing a bunch of it this past weekend. In the news, we consider EA's patently ludicrous copyright lawsuit against (an admittedly deserving) Zynga. Also, don't forget that we'll be at PAX Prime and PAX Dev, talking about ethics of game design (among other things)!
Horror

Tonight on GeekNights, we discuss horror and what we enjoy in that genre of media. In other news, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a powerful argument for both the expansion and embracing of a fair-use culture, and Nintendo unprecedentedly cuts the price on the faltering DSI. Also, Scott has never seen Mazes and Monsters, and he lost his fancy water bottle (which he really, really needed to share).
