Mirai (2018)

Tonight on GeekNights, we review Mamoru Hosoda's wonderful Mirai (未来のミライ). It's a film about how the imagination of children and the stories they absorb growing up shape them and those around them. It also has the best house in the history of anime. In the news, beware PIN 20, Evangelion is coming to Netflix, Gen Fukunaga is salty about it, and we'll be live at MAGFest and PAX South!

Night is Short, Walk on Girl

Tonight on GeekNights, we review Masaaki Yuasa's phenomenal Night Is Short, Walk On Girl. Just go see it. Don't even wait to listen to our review.

In the news, Hanebado is bad, The Dragon Prince is good, Assassination Classroom is all right, Adventure Time's ending was perfect, Bojack Horseman continues to be excellent, Care Bears looks like it will be ultra cute, DuckTales (2017) is fantastic, and SPACE JAM IS GETTING A SEQUEL WITH LEBRON!

Isle of Dogs

Tonight on a special GeekNights Rymily Review, Rym and Emily consider Wes Anderson's new Isle of Dogs. It's thoroughly enjoyable, gritty and beautiful, but has a number of problems.

Lu Over the Wall

Tonight on GeekNights, we review Masaaki Yuasa's wonderful Lu Over the Wall. It's an anime movie that you definitely should make time to see. In the news, we'll be watching In This Corner of the World soon, we are reminded of the era of the APEX DVD Player, and Adventure Time is coming to an end.

Be sure to see us LIVE at PAX East, and tell us if our Winter Anime Reviews were right!

Mary and the Witch's Flower

Tonight on GeekNights, we review Studio PONOC's Mary and the Witch's Flower. It's not bad per se, but it is definitely flawed. In the news, there is a 12th Yowamushi Pedal stage play, and the New York International Children's Film Festival has a fantastic 2018 lineup that we will definitely be seeing.

Your Name

Tonight on GeekNights, we review the fantastic, must-see Your Name (君の名は。), Makoto Shinkai's greatest work to date and one of the biggest anime movies ever made. In the news, Kemono Friends is shockingly popular, selling out its popup store, and Toho is having a fantastic year in no small part due to Your Name.

Sailor Moon S Movie

Tonight on GeekNights, we review the Sailor Moon S movie. Specifically, we review the dub. Cats apparently can't fall in love. Except when they fall in love. But then they give up on love and settle. In the news, the Dragon Half manga is coming to America, the new Little Witch Academia is a (great) reboot of the original, and Yowamushi Pedal has a new season.

We are on our way to PAX South right now to give a panel on Friday about Grind Mechanics in Games! See you there! Support GeekNights on Patreon!
