Quite recently a person known on the Internet as Bigolas Dickolas Wolfwood promoted this book, and it became a mild sensation. It won the Hugo, Nebula and Locus awards for best novella. Sounds like something worth reading.

As the name implies, it involves a literal time war. There are two societies, one is a technological singularity and the other is more of a biological one. Each has a special time traveling agents working for them engaging in a war through time and space.

One of the agents ends up contacting an enemy agent with a simple letter. What results is an epistolary novella as the communications between these two agents build up to some climactic events. I mean, it wouldn't be much of a book if nothing exciting happened.

It's a very quick read. I got it from the library and finished it well before it was due. Join us in reading this book and finding out if the hype is real.
