We've been diligently working to get some of our lectures/panels online for the benefit of our many listeners who can not make it to the conventions we frequent. I'm pleased to announce that the entirety of one from PAX East 2011 is now available for your viewing pleasure in Rym's Youtube channel.
So enjoy The Triple Threat: Short Subjects in Gaming.
Thank you everyone, especially Enforcers, for a wonderful time at PAX East 2011. We have received the usual bevy of requests for our slides, here they are.
We also had multiple people asking for recommendations for books on game theory. I can't recall the exact title of the one I read from the library, but there are many on Amazon that appear to be quite good. Amazon Game Theory Books
There is one book I recommend which is not necessarily a book on game theory, and is also a large expensive text book, but is probably the best book about game design I have ever seen. That book is Rules of Play: Game Design Fundamentals
Now that one more PAX is over, we are looking forward to the next convention, which is this very weekend! We will be attending Zenkaikon 2011 this weekend March 18-20, 2011 in King of Prussia, PA. Here is our panel schedule.
- Losing Should Be Fun - Saturday 4:15PM in Live 3
- Beyond Naruto - Saturday 7:00PM in Live 3
- Beyond Dungeons and Dragons - Sunday 1:45PM in Live 2
This weekend, March 11-13, we will be appearing at the Penny Arcade Expo: Boston! We have not one, not two, but five panels (in three panel rooms) this time around: one favorite from PAX Prime 2010, and two brand new ones! Follow us on Twitter at the con (@geeknights), and feel free to catch us for a game on Saturday: we'll likely be in tabletop.
