[07:03:23] <Aria> So what's the moral of this Rumpelstiltskin story?
[07:10:49] <Aria> Thu, 18 Oct 2012, 10:24
[07:10:49] <Aria> I think this was a great story.... And that it taught
[07:10:49] <Aria> him a lesson........!!!!
[07:15:25] <Aria> "There is a moral to this story (..).
[07:15:25] <Aria> The king is president Obama. The father and daughter represent the 99%.
[07:15:25] <Aria> Rumplestiltskin represents the Federal Reserve bank that is able to print dollars out of fiber, ostensibly for the benefit of the king and his kingdom. When R's identity is revealed he destroys himself (hopefully)in a fit of rage.
[07:15:25] <Aria> After reading many of the comments one wonders at the dismal level of intelligence."
[07:25:30] <Bronz|work> Good morning.
[07:25:48] <Bronz|work> And those are indeed not very high quality comments.
[07:26:01] <Aria> Hi
[07:26:10] <Bronz|work> The moral of the story is: 1. Don't make bad deals
[07:27:50] <Aria> The guy who complained about his fellow commenters level of intelligence is the guy who thought the Grimm Brothers were writing about American politics ca 2012
[07:28:45] <Bronz|work> Well, just because the story is old doesn't mean it doesn't have paralels to modern life.
[07:28:56] <Bronz|work> Is he saying that it was the original intention, or that it just fits well?
[07:29:42] <Bronz|work> Man, my co-workers know nothing of games.
[07:30:01] <Bronz|work> "I watched the trailer to War of gods...? I dunno what it was called".
[07:30:11] <Bronz|work> He also didn't know what it was about.
[07:30:26] <Aria> I think original intent (Let's say in his mind it referred to a 18XX government but parallels today's America)
[07:31:29] <Aria> And I mean, War of Gods and God of War is pretty similar, and both fairly generic
[07:33:04] <Aria> "Thu, 10 Mar 2005, 08:31
[07:33:04] <Aria> I thought it was good because she was a poor girl and her dad said she could turn straw into gold and she couldn't but she got a little man to do it for her and then she became queen"
[07:33:13] <Aria> So all of it then?
[07:33:44] <Bronz|work> Sounds like a primary school kid trying to do a book review.
[07:35:09] <Aria> Anyway, that story is stupid.
[07:35:32] <Aria> What made your co-worker watch the God of War trailer?
[07:35:38] <Bronz|work> I dunno.
[07:55:56] <Aria> So how come there isn't a- or how come at least I don't know of a program that does natural hand writing?
[07:56:41] <Aria> I'm not even talking about something complicated like computer generated letters with neural networks or anything
[07:56:52] <Aria> Just like, get someone in who has a legible font
[07:57:24] <Aria> Make him write a few sentences so you get like 6 variants of each letter
[07:58:01] <Aria> Then do a photoshop plugin that sees where each letter is and places one of six hand written pictures on top
[08:02:16] <Bronz|work> Ah, yeah!
[08:02:37] <Bronz|work> Maybe because people with good handwriting isn't that hard to find?
[08:03:18] <Bronz|work> I mean, there's this: https://www.youtube.com
[08:03:22] <Aria> Doesn't that just make the thing easier to make?
[08:04:16] <Bronz|work> Sounds like you could make a service out of this.
[08:05:45] <Aria> This seems pretty good
[08:07:41] <Aria> But this is complicated. You couldn't do this in 2005. My solution you could do in 2005
[08:09:32] <Aria> ... That last bit
[08:09:44] <Aria> People could only guess the correct answer 60% of the time
[08:09:56] <Aria> On a hard test too. That means it must be super obvious
[08:21:01] <Bronz|work> While it might be super obvious, it might also be "good enough"
[08:21:08] <Bronz|work> With your thing, they would 100% be able to tell
[08:21:23] <Aria> For sure. I was going for good enough
[08:21:41] <Aria> It should read as hand written on a glance, not be convincingly hand written
[08:21:45] <Bronz|work> Also, 60% is lower than you'd think.
[08:21:51] <Bronz|work> Because 50% is random.
[08:22:08] <Bronz|work> Means 4/5 people could not tell the difference.
[08:22:10] <Aria> Oh right I wasn't thinking right
[08:22:21] <Aria> In my mind 0% was random, but yeah that makes sense
[08:22:47] <Bronz|work> Yeah, that's a big difference.
[08:22:56] <Bronz|work> Statistics are weird like that.
[08:32:56] <Aria> You know.
[08:33:22] <Aria> I always assume Tesco will show up at the start of the slot. Like the first minute
[08:33:33] <Aria> But most often they show up at the very end
[08:57:38] <Bronz|work> Yup.
[08:58:01] <Bronz|work> I think we're either the first or last house, usually the last, because we're very close to the 2nd exit.
[08:58:18] <Aria> He went past now
[08:58:23] <Aria> Came through*
[08:58:32] <Bronz|work> Oh ok.
[08:58:35] <Bronz|work> so in the middle then?
[08:58:53] <Aria> Huh?
[08:58:56] <Aria> No its 58
[08:59:14] <Bronz|work> ?
[08:59:18] <Aria> He was here in the last five minutes of the time frame
[08:59:29] <Bronz|work> Oh it was between 8 and 10?
[08:59:34] <Bronz|work> I thought it was 9 and 11.
[08:59:47] <Aria> 8-19
[08:59:51] <Aria> 10*
[09:00:01] <Bronz|work> Ok, then yeah, very end.
[10:20:04] <Bronz|work> Tomorrow, apperantly, is BBQ day at IBM.
[10:21:47] <Bronz|work> http://imgur.com
[10:22:55] <Aria> Good choice of font and background
[10:23:03] <Aria> Very legible
[10:24:13] <Bronz|work> extremely.
[10:24:26] <Bronz|work> Luckily, I have gotten the same menu with different stock images at last 2 more times.
[10:42:20] <Bronz|work> My elbow has healed to such a degree that it's not just compfortable enough to cross my arms on the desk. An improvement, I'd say.
[10:47:12] <Aria> (Y)
[12:44:49] <Bronz|work> Is "Ane" a common first name in the Nordic countries?
[12:48:02] <Bronz|work> Hey Aria, how's the authoring going?

[13:00:14] <Bronz|work> Hey Apsup
[13:00:37] <Apsup> hi
[13:01:04] <Bronz|work> I like this image because it looks like the dragons are planning some sort of mischief which in their minds is the bigest deal ever, but in reality they're probably planning to turn all the bins in the street upside down or something.

[14:15:01] <Aria> Yes it looks like that
