[07:27:53] <Aria> It's a hacked version where you get to roam freely, so its basically just Zelda 1
[07:28:19] <Aria> So it's not a great retrospective
[07:28:31] <Aria> And they don't seem to have done their research properly either

[08:18:14] <Aria> His take away for why Dive Kick lost money is that it had too much content, not that platforms launched like a year after the steam hype
[08:19:43] <Aria> Also he keeps stressing that marketing it as a hard core fighting game hurt the sales
[08:20:07] <Aria> They should've marketed it as indie casual 'hey come check this out', because it ended up being mostly bought by the people who were into that
[08:20:26] <Aria> But marketing it towards fighting game purists is 100% of what made the game get press attention
[08:31:26] <Aria> Man Dave Lang, how can you be this thick? You do this for a living
[08:31:48] <Aria> Capsule Force doesn't sell because it looks like a game that doesn't sell.
[08:32:01] <Aria> You can tell from a fucking glance

[09:03:47] <Aria> And?
[09:03:50] <Bronz|work> And I dunno, it looks half-way competent from those screenshots.
[09:03:52] <Aria> Would you look at it twice?
[09:04:03] <Aria> Oh it can easily be competent
[09:04:07] <Aria> I don't doubt its a ton of fun
[09:04:16] <Bronz|work> I mean, I definetly get the angle you're coming from, but it looks like one of those games that if someone reccomended it, you'd go "Oh really, ok, I believe you"
[09:04:35] <Aria> But because of the ortho camera and low res sprites, it simply won't garner a second look
[09:05:02] <Aria> They should redraw almost everything to have a perspective camera, and add some sort of filter
[09:05:16] <Aria> Even if its garbage blurry VHS filter that you'll want to turn off
[09:05:31] <Aria> (Make sure you can actually turn it off, or the one guy who bought it won't even be happy)
