[08:36:05] <Apsup> Good Morning!
[08:38:41] <Bronz|work> Hello!
[08:39:07] <Bronz|work> Only four more days, and this month is over.
[08:48:10] <Apsup> so doest time fly

[13:44:00] <Aria> Hello
[13:44:27] <Bronz|work> .... who are you?
[13:44:37] <Aria> Aria
[13:44:58] <Bronz|work> I think I knew someone by that name a very, very long time ago.
[13:45:09] <Bronz|work> I remember him being a pretty sweet dude...
[13:45:23] <Aria> Like 12 hours?
[13:46:45] <Bronz|work> Wow, it feels like it was ages.
[13:48:34] <Bronz|work> How was your nap?
[13:48:41] <Aria> Good
[13:51:07] <Aria> So yesterday, I tried splitting my video up into several videos
[13:51:09] <Aria> Four parts
[13:51:14] <Aria> Every part got flagged
[13:51:55] <Aria> So I've decided it's impossible for me to get it up on YouTube. And there are no other video hosting sites that exist and accept large videos as far as I'm aware
[13:52:13] <Aria> This other guy who had his on YouTube, I sent him a message, and he replied that I should claim it's fair use
[13:52:15] <Bronz|work> That sucks.
[13:52:25] <Aria> But-- I honestly don't think it is fair use =P
[13:53:08] <Aria> Like, my thing is most certainly transformed from the original, it's not just piracy. But it's also entirely derived from the original.
[13:53:26] <Aria> I could argue it as criticism, because every edit I made is me saying there should've been an edit
[13:53:41] <Aria> But that wouldn't be transparent to the audience, I don't think.
[13:57:39] <Aria> Should I give it a try? Apparently the reason it says I don't have any copyright strikes it because I'm a YouTube partner, so I've been vetted
[13:58:21] <Aria> So the bots don't have authority to strike me. But if I ask a human and they say no, every outstanding bot strike will be visible which they can then accept and with like 10 in a row, it'll shut down my account
[13:58:45] <Aria> It's not the one I use for email though, so nothing too precious would be lost.
[13:59:01] <Bronz|work> Hmm...
[14:04:37] <Bronz|work> So I'm looking into it, and your edit counts as a derivitive work (https://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ14.pdf)
[14:04:54] <Bronz|work> You're not allowed to make derrivitive works unless the copy-right holder says that's fine.
[14:04:57] <Bronz|work> So yeah...#
[14:05:24] <Aria> What I figured. But all of YouTube is about abusing fair use, so I bet I could get away with it
[14:07:14] <Bronz|work> True enough.
[14:30:15] <Aria> Horizon Zero Dawn looks really good on PS4 Pro
[14:30:21] <Aria> Not so much on regular PS4
[14:30:47] <Bronz|work> It's actually different?
[14:30:58] <Aria> Yeah, its sharp
[14:31:05] <Aria> And "solid"
[14:31:21] <Bronz|work> Those are both things I enjoy.
[14:31:24] <Aria> The regular version is very blurry and also very shimmery
[14:32:28] <Aria> Their grass has a lot of wind applied to it, which makes it look really good
[14:32:57] <Bronz|work> Sounds like they just spend more time on the PS4pro version.
[14:33:05] <Bronz|work> And were lazy in scaling it to PS4?
[14:33:32] <Aria> I think its a case of the base requirements simply being too high
[14:34:00] <Aria> So they had to scale the scalable stuff very far back and as a result have an ugly game
[14:34:33] <Aria> Since PS4 Pro meets base requirements, they can set the scalable stuff as they had initially intended plus then some
[14:38:04] <Bronz|work> Ah, fair enough.
[14:40:24] <Aria> People kill the framerate
[14:47:02] <Aria> Okay this is a great game
[14:47:15] <Aria> I mean, not to play, couldn' care less.
[14:47:34] <Aria> Pause screens and all menu elements run at 60hz (game is 30)
[14:48:27] <Aria> So where other games work mostly, but then you hit pause and everything is sickening, this game not only has good menus, it has better menus than the rest of the game
[14:48:43] <Aria> Also their map is hype. Its 3D
[14:48:54] <Bronz|work> This stuff is making me more interested in the game...
[14:48:55] <Aria> Also framerate is, according to Digital Foundry, perfect
[14:49:07] <Bronz|work> Though I guess we'll have to buy a PS4...
[14:49:13] <Aria> I mean, in this video, I've definitely noticed some terrible lag
[14:49:39] <Aria> But it was all in scenes with NPCs, it looks like all the combat scenes and exploring scenes have perfect frame rate
[14:50:02] <Bronz|work> I'm trying to find the Star Trek Enterprise theme song, but all these songs are garbage quality
[14:50:16] <Bronz|work> but on my phone, the preview doesn't tell me what the quality will be
[14:51:09] <Aria> This one seems alright https://youtu.be
[14:54:31] <Bronz|work> Browsing through dutch language subreddits, I'm stating to realize my Dutch language comprehension has suffered...
[14:54:45] <Aria> Yeah I had that today
[15:40:13] <Aria> https://youtu.be
[15:40:41] <Aria> This game is for sale, but maybe this video is from before he game was for sale
[15:43:49] <Aria> ...
[15:43:56] <Aria> Linux version of HITMAN isn't always online
[15:44:00] <Aria> We should switch to that
[15:45:54] <Bronz|work> Oh really?
[15:46:15] <Aria> Better performance, doesn't kick you randomly
[15:46:32] <Aria> Non intrusive DRM as far as I can tell
[15:46:35] <Aria> Sounds great
[15:46:42] <Aria> I would have to install Linux..
[15:49:41] <Bronz|work> Hmmm...
[15:50:04] <Bronz|work> I wonder what would be the best way to have both OSs run at the same item?
[15:50:18] <Aria> VM you mean?
[15:50:20] <Bronz|work> Like run the linux kernel in windows, or run windows in a KVM.
[15:51:01] <Aria> Probably Linux host, I'm not sure how I would do GPU passthru to Linux and have Windows still display to the monitor
[15:51:09] <Bronz|work> You can do a full VM, or Cygwin or maybe even coLinux
[15:52:54] <Bronz|work> Aww, the last stable release of coLinux is 5 years old
[15:53:25] <Aria> Linux HITMAN supports twelve GPUs?!
[15:53:31] <Aria> Windows barely supports two!
[15:53:45] <Bronz|work> Well, they made it support multi-GPU, right?
[15:53:58] <Bronz|work> So at that point, in linux, you can just be "... how many slots you got"?
[15:54:14] <Bronz|work> But on windows you have to be all "Ok, use GPU 1 and... use GPU2 and..."
[15:54:18] <Bronz|work> And you better not guess wrong!
[15:55:39] <Aria> Seems like performance is actually worse on Linux
[15:55:45] <Aria> But possibly a bit more consistent
[15:55:54] <Aria> And you can just throw more GPUs at it until it works
[15:56:02] <Aria> Also performance isn't that bad
[15:56:12] <Aria> Plus it never kicks you from a vs bot match
[15:56:51] <Bronz|work> That's true.
[15:56:58] <Bronz|work> More consistent is good.
[15:57:03] <Bronz|work> Even if it is worse overal
[15:59:39] <Aria> Definitely, I would gladly, gladly play the game at 30hz if it was actually 30hz, despite the benchmark saying I should be getting 90hz average
[16:17:56] <Bronz|work> Did you hear about cloudbleed?
[16:18:35] <Bronz|work> Cloudflare had a very bad security exploit, which acted a lot like heartbleed, but seems to be even more severe (but obviously limited to Cloudflare)
[16:24:21] <Aria> No that seems like an issue
[16:24:25] <Aria> Im play Thumper VR
[16:24:28] <Aria> So I can't read the chat
[16:24:31] <Aria> Thumper VR is alright
[16:24:35] <Bronz|work> Fair ehough.
[16:24:37] <Bronz|work> Alright?
[16:24:44] <Bronz|work> I want to try some of that.
[16:31:51] <Aria> I did the first level. I have a full like laundry list of complaints
[16:31:53] <Aria> But it was alright
[16:31:55] <Aria> I got a B
[16:32:21] <Aria> So not great, but alright given that I couldn't input for some of it and that I don't have rhythm
[16:32:33] <Bronz|work> Alright, fair enough
[16:32:33] <Aria> Sense of 3D is not very good at all
[16:56:52] <Aria> Alright, done with that
[16:57:01] <Aria> Kinda underwhelming, to be honest
[16:57:11] <Aria> Thumper seems like a much cooler game than a VR game
[16:57:23] <Aria> Which is the exact opposite of how I felt before trying it
[16:58:07] <Bronz|work> Ah I see.
[16:59:54] <Bronz|work> Ok, about time to go home.
[16:59:58] <Bronz|work> I'll see you there, Aria.
[20:31:25] -!- Aria has quit [Read error]
