[07:47:40] <Aria> Hey
[07:52:05] <Bronz|work> Good morning!
[07:52:29] <Aria> A bit late, but fairly ok still
[08:53:09] -!- Apsup [Apsup!~Aleksi@hide-C3A41BC5.kortex.jyu.fi] has joined #geeknights
[08:56:37] <Bronz|work> Relating to the movie we were watching: http://www.qwantz.com
[09:14:44] <Bronz|work> Also, hi Apsup.
[09:20:41] <Apsup> Morning.
[10:36:58] -!- Apsup has quit [Ping timeout: 180 seconds]
[12:14:51] <Aria> Copyright should last 10-15 years. Not like 300
[12:19:49] <Bronz|work> Copyright should last as long as the creater does (if it's a company, until it goes bankrupt, if it's a person, until he/she dies), BUT, licensing derivitive works should be automatic. A TV show in the starwars universe should automatically be licensed at 50% of the income.
[12:20:33] <Aria> 50%
[12:20:44] <Aria> Also sometimes you can't like.. give your money away
[12:20:48] <Bronz|work> If it's just a copy of the original work, that's 99%
[12:20:54] <Aria> Like, you can't find the people who own the IP
[12:21:02] <Aria> because they live in Kenya and don't speak English
[12:21:06] <Bronz|work> You must retain that money until it gets claimed.
[12:21:21] <Aria> Oh, so the copyright holder has to claim it?
[12:21:34] <Aria> Anyway, 50% is too much! 25%
[12:21:36] <Bronz|work> You must prove you did your best effort to pay the people, and the copyright holder can claim it.
[12:21:55] <Bronz|work> Also, I set it 'way too high', because the copyright holder can always make deals still.
[12:22:22] <Aria> Hrm.. I suppose
[12:23:29] <Bronz|work> Besides exact amounts, can you find any flaw in my system?
[12:24:06] <Aria> No, I suppose that's good
[12:28:07] <Bronz|work> I'm good at solving legal problems!
[12:58:59] <Aria> I'd watch a Pokemon Go movie
[13:00:05] <Bronz|work> What would it be about?
[13:00:15] <Bronz|work> People running around capturing pokemon?
[13:00:20] <Aria> Yeah
[13:00:31] <Aria> But like, they go on a field trip
[13:00:40] <Aria> To catch mewtwo or something
[13:00:52] <Aria> Or maybe there's a guy who is the best guy at Pokemon Go
[13:11:10] <Bronz|work> You can't really be 'good' at pokemon go.
[13:11:21] <Bronz|work> At least, I don't think so.
[13:11:37] <Aria> yeah, but movie narrative

[15:13:05] <Bronz|work> Ha ha-ba-pa ha-pa-pa-ba-pa https://www.youtube.com
[15:30:31] <Aria> That was really good
[15:31:29] <Aria> He makes two songs a week?
[15:37:50] <Bronz|work> Sounds about right.
[15:38:09] <Bronz|work> He's also the guy what did that remix of discord that's real good.
[15:38:09] <Aria> That's a lot
[15:38:41] <Aria> Traditional music people do one song every like 3 months
[15:39:25] <Bronz|work> Indeed. I mean, he does remixes, which helps, but yeah.
[15:40:07] <Aria> Kanye West has 110 signles, it says on this website. He's been making music professionally since 2003
[15:40:46] <Aria> So one song every six weeks, as opposed to two songs every one week
[15:43:03] <Bronz|work> Well, to be fair, when you're super popular, a lot of time is preforming songs you've written in the past at concerts and such.
[15:43:21] <Bronz|work> Whereas this guy has to 'record' his song only once.
[15:54:28] <Aria> YouTube keeps recommending me anti-feminisim videos
[15:55:56] <Aria> I think it's because I watch Anita Sarkasien (Spelled differently), and the main other group of people who do are people who watch the videos exclusively to complain about them. So it assumes I too want to complain.
[15:57:29] <Bronz|work> ok bye.
